This work, part of a new series revolving around the theme of the sea, aims to portray the energy and movement of water. I enjoy experimenting and pushing the boundaries with watercolours and have recently started to incorporate the use of concentrated inks into my work. I use a masking technique on most of my paintings, gradually building up layers of saturated colour, highlighting details, such as the sea creatures in this particular painting. I then usually go on to deconstruct my original paintings and re-assemble them in the style of a mosaic.
